As the majority of Thailand’s inhabitants are Buddhists, it’s no surprise that they pay tribute to Buddha and if you want to see it on a big scale – go see the big Buddha. Standing at forty-five meters tall, this huge statue can be seen from quite the distance. Located on top of the Nakkerd Hills, it’s made out of white Burmese marble which allows it to shimmer in the sun. It’s truly a sight to behold.

Explore The Cuisine

Travelling to a different country means you’ll get a new experience when it comes to the cuisine. Phuket is known for it’s delicious and varied street food and there’s a few you should definitely try before you go back home. Pad Thai is a delicious dish made up of stir-fried noodles usually bulked up with shrimp, garlic, shallots and red chilli pepper. Roti is their version of the pancake, which is normally filled with banana or heavenly Nutella.

Be At One With The Wildlife

The wildlife in your own country might be vastly different to the ones you’ll find in Phuket and if you love animals, there’s plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with some of them. Visit the Tiger Kingdom or head over to the Elephant Sanctuary to see these majestic animals that you may have only ever seen photos of before. The monkey hill is also a must visit location to see the monkey’s playing.

Lounge On One Of The Many Beaches

Phuket and Thailand in general is certainly admired for its luscious beaches and you’ll certainly want to make time for a few days of lounging on the beach. And when it comes to a yacht charter, Phuket has plenty of boats you can hire to explore the area fully. A few popular beaches to seek out are on the Phi Phi Islands and Nai Harn Beach. Both have beautiful white sands and crystal clear waters that are perfect for a dip in, to cool down.

Delve Into The History Books

Phuket has a very long and rich history. It’s temples, like the Wat Phra Nang Sang, are a sight to behold due to their vivid colours and unique architecture. Along with the temples, you also have plenty of museums if you fancy a day of schmoozing around, learning about local history. Some of the popular places to go are Phuket Mining Museum and the Phuket Trickeye Museum which displays interactive 3D paintings that are perfect for entertaining both kids and adults!
