Germany: The World’s Coolest Stairs
There are two incredible stairs Justin and I stopped by. We are impressed with what Germany had done with integrating art, nature, and city into one place.
1. The Killesberg Tower in Stuttgart’s Killesberg Hill Park may look rather fragile, with its steel cables and filigree stairs – but it’s sturdy enough to bear the weight of its visitors! And even to sway them gently to and fro as they enjoy the view from its upper platform!
2. German artists Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth created “Tiger & Turtle-Magic Mountain” out of zinc and steel left over from local mining operations, and it’s main purpose is to exist as an unusual venue to view the gorgeous German countryside around it. With 249 steps making up the walkway, and LED lights so that the climb can be appreciated after dark, this twisted metal track gives you a chance to see this classic ride from an entirely new perspective day or night.
