Silfra Snorkeling in Thingvellir National Park, Iceland!

Silfra is a rift formed in the divergent tectonic boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates and is located in the Þingvallavatn Lake in the Þingvellir National Park in Iceland.

Scuba divers and snorkelers are attracted to Sifra’s exceptionally clear, fresh water, its geological significance and the rare opportunity to swim between continental plates. The rift offers exceptional visibility of 70–80 meters (230–260 ft).

The site has been placed on the world’s top fifty diving destinations by at least one travel site.
